Day 65- Bridgwater to Weston-Super-Mare

Despite the short ride today we were up early again! To be frank I would have liked a bit of a sleep in this morning as I was quite tired and I am sure that the cough and flu like symptoms I have had over the past week is partly due to being a bit run down and tired.

Anyway enough of that….

Yes up at 6.00 am and after a light breakfast we were on the road by 7.30 am.

The weather was very good for riding today with sunny skies and no wind. The temperature at the start of the ride was about 15 degrees but it warmed up to the mid twenties by the time our ride finished at around midday.

The ride was on paved roads and laneways in the flat country in Somerset. We had 2 biggish climbs during the ride which were about 150metres each and the second one had some of the gradient at 12%

It was interesting to look at a previous ride I did with Chris where we went from Lands End to John O ‘Groats and we passed through some of this country then!

We arrived at our destination at about 11.00 am but of course the room was not available. Luckily we were able to leave our bikes at the hotel and have a quick change of clothes and enjoy a walk along the seashore at Westen SM. It was a lovely summer day and there was a lot of families out enjoying the beach, walking along the promenade, enjoying the activities on the pier or merely shops in the town. We enjoyed the walk to see the pier and some of the other attractions along the seashore and had a bite of lunch.

After lunch we returned to the hotel and checked in and had a shower. I ended up having a short nap ahead of completing this blog.

It was an enjoyable day of riding and the weather was excellent.
